CASE STUDY

Led the transformation of STAND+ through a complete redesign of the brand’s product vision, aesthetic language, and performance identity. Working directly with the CEO and venture capital stakeholders, the project focused on building a commercially scalable product ecosystem capable of elevating both market perception and business growth.

STAND+ creates energy-dispersive footwear for professionals who stand for extended periods. Initially launched as Gales in 2020 to serve healthcare workers needing comfort and protection, the brand expanded and re-branded as STAND+ in 2024, addressing footwear needs across healthcare, hospitality, food service, and beyond.

The brand’s initial product line served its purpose but lacked a distinct visual identity to differentiate and define STAND+. Develop a unique design language for STAND+ that clearly reflects both performance requirements and protective functionality. Allowing for future brand expansion into other product categories.

The STAND+ design strategy was built around three core principles — LOOK, FEEL, and PERFORM.

The visual language focused on creating a clean, minimal aesthetic with broad appeal across both male and female consumers. Comfort became the emotional center of the product experience, designed to deliver an ultra-soft, cloud-like feeling underfoot. Performance was driven through a modular system approach, combining adaptive fit solutions with innovative comfort technologies to create scalable, future-focused products.

The goal was to create a design system capable of balancing both worlds through controlled surfaces, subtle depth changes, and clean sculptural transitions. Inspired by the simplicity and refinement of modern industrial design, the final direction blended soft and hard geometries to create a progressive yet commercially accessible product identity.

An extensive concept exploration process was used to define the foundation of the product language and tooling strategy. Multiple silhouette directions were developed to test proportion, geometry, cushioning expression, and surface transitions — balancing visual simplicity with distinctive performance identity.

The iterative sketch process allowed the team to refine key design principles early in development, helping establish a scalable visual system capable of evolving across future product categories and franchise extensions.

The final product direction translated the initial design vision into a scalable and commercially recognizable footwear system. Every surface, proportion, and transition was carefully refined to create a balance between softness, technical performance, and modern simplicity.

Key design markers — including organic sidewall sculpting, ripple-inspired textures, venting details, and fluid cushioning transitions were developed to establish a distinctive visual identity capable of cascading across future product franchises. The result was a cohesive design language that combined comfort-driven innovation with a refined, future-facing aesthetic.

The product ecosystem was designed as a scalable franchise system built around distinct consumer needs and usage moments. Each silhouette shared a consistent visual language while delivering a unique performance experience — ranging from all-day comfort and workplace protection to post-activity recovery.

This modular approach allowed the brand to create clear product differentiation while maintaining a cohesive identity across the entire range, establishing the foundation for future category expansion and long-term franchise growth.

The final product brought together comfort-driven innovation, refined aesthetics, and scalable manufacturing into a cohesive footwear solution. Sculpted sidewalls, fluid surface transitions, and integrated ventilation details created a distinctive visual identity while supporting long-term comfort and everyday usability.

Designed as both a functional performance product and a recognizable brand asset, the silhouette established a strong foundation for the future evolution of the STAND+ product ecosystem.
